Projects and Awards
Gold Award
The Gold Award is the highest honor that a Girl Scout can achieve. This award is open to any girl in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade (Seniors and Ambassadors), and requires a considerable amount of dedication, commitment, and community service to complete. The penultimate item to be completed is a community service project that will benefit the entire community. Unlike the Silver or Bronze Award, each girl must do her own project.

Silver Award
The Silver Award is the highest honor that a Cadette Girl Scout can achieve. This award is open to any girl in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. In order to finish this award, girls must complete a community service project. This can be done with a small group or individually but must help the entire community, not just Girl Scouts.

Bronze Award
The Bronze Award is the highest honor that a Junior Girl Scout can achieve. This award is open to any girl in 4th or 5th grade. For this award, girls must work in a group, often their troop, to complete a journey and a community service project. Unlike the Silver or Gold Awards, this project may focus on service at the Girl Scout level.
To learn more about what it takes to get this achievement and to find the required paperwork, visit GSUSA's Bronze Award site.
Service Projects
A girl doesn't have to be working on a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award to get involved with the community. Whether as part of a badge, Journey, or just because, girls are encouraged to reach out to their community, and service projects are one of the ways they can do just that.
Have you or anyone you know completed any outstanding service projects or awards that you would like to share? If so, then please contact Laura with information about who did what, when it was done, and any pictures or newspaper articles you might have documenting this experience.
